Our country suffered from a huge crisis. Intel was never unaffected: It suffered serious downturn. Last year 2003 was a tough time. The country’s financial crisis and Intel problems made it seemed harder to find reason to perform beyond the company’s expectations. But I have always believed that tough times make great men. I thought I could be one of them. If only I could work hard enough, I could turn all negative things around into positive. Indeed, last year was a time that pushed me to become stronger. In practical terms, I learned not to look at problems as something insurmountable, but as something I could learn from. I owed whatever I am to Intel. In order to payback all the good things Intel did to me, I thought I was left with only one option. And that was to be the best I could become. I was not here to show off. My efforts were never directed to show people that I was the best. But to become the best as Intel is the best. I call it the ONLY alternative. So the first thing that came into my mind was the question: What can I do as a Grade 53 QRE technician? I am a technician and Intel wants me to become the best technician I can ever become. Intel has set the road to every employee’s perfection. It has implanted in all of us the Intel 4K values that are marks of sterling performance. And I thought these values were the keys I could use to turn the tables around, for my own good as perfection is good, and Intel’s good. The road to perfection is like proving God exists. People do not see HIM, but since they feel his presence, they strive to be good as HE is good. I may not reach perfection, but since people recognize that I am on the road to it at the very least, I feel good, and strive more to be good. I can only thank Intel for recognizing that I exist by placing me in the list of TOE nominees. I see Intel as a road to Perfection. And Perfection is God. Remember me as that Person….

It’s maybe a simple movie and a story but indeed it’s a very sensible, great and inspiring one. The moral lesson is really good. It can be consider as one of the Thailand’s finest films.
If you’ll look deeper in the story, you’ll be amazed and kinda delighted and said that the money and time spent is worthwhile. The actor and cinematography is very good as well. The extra greatness of the main character Nong Toom is admirable since childhood until he grew up behind from being a transvestite. Just watch why I said this. Your admiration might catch by him too.
In the story, I relate every punch Nong Toom receives as struggles and trials in life. That no matter how hard the blows he gets. The harder he resists and fights back. This is the attitude everyone needs in real life especially in time of downturns. The make up he puts when he fights just symbolizes as we have to be ourselves in getting what we want in life. The most important is you know it and you got to win it. You should also know where you will position yourself in order to achieve our aspiration. Just like when he was on the training camp. He studied the real art of fighting by himself until he master it.
In the movie, the unforgettable lines I can never forget was “Just think that at the top of this long stair. Your dreams and happiness you’ve been longing for are there and waiting for you.” (A line from his master during his training.) The other one was “ It’s harder to become a man. It’s difficult to become a woman. But it’s not important. The most important is you know what you wanted to be.” (A line from Nong Toom when he was interviewed asking which is better in becoming a woman or a man.)
Based on the true story of Thailand’s famed transgender kickboxer, Parinya Charoenphol. Believing he’s a girl trapped in a boy’s body since childhood, Parinya Charoenphol (affectionately known as Nong Toom in Thailand) sets out to master the most masculine and lethal sport of Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing) to earn a living and to achieve his ultimate goal of total femininity. Nong Toom life goes from his teenage years as a traveling monk, to grueling days in boxing camps, to explosive matches where he knocks out most of his opponents across Thailand and Japan.

Another year had passed by in my life. Another time full of excitements, funs, adventures, learning, experiences, crisis and trials. A year that I considered one of the most heart piercing part of my past. One of the toughest situations faced not only by me but my family as well. The experience of fighting against death for your loveone. The experience that life and death matters. The experience that tested our faith in God. The experience that proves the importance of being as “one” as family. But behind the predicament, blasphemy has no place in our soul. Instead, that is another reason why God should be thankful. I believe that He’s not the one who create tragedy and problem. But it is us, who make them. Because we are the one that is responsible in any action we make.
The past year showed that after night there’s always dawn. The past year, prove me that God really have a peculiar idea on human’s life transformation. I also learned that in any situation, He should be the first one to call, not your family, your friend or any one but Him, because He’s the only one who can give you peace.
“God, I’m thanking you for everythings that happened in our life last year. Thanks for the blessings, learning and experiences that enabled me to grow spiritually, emotionally and mentally. Also, I’m thanking you in advance for the upcoming.”
